A man’s body has been pulled from the water south of Sydney in what appears to be a suspected fishing accident.

The rescue helicopter assisted in winching the body from the water and he was taken to the Wanda base where NSW Ambulance paramedics were unable to revive him.

"Unfortunately when critical incidents occur in the Royal National Park area our rescue efforts are hampered by lack of access and poor radio and phone reception."

The man's identity is yet to be confirmed, but officers confirmed he is not the man who remains missing after being washed from the rocks at the Figure Eight Pools, also in the Royal National Park.Related Articles
