Former prime minister Kevin Rudd has lashed Coalition MPs who want to delay lifting the compulsory superannuation contribution, saying it is a 'nonsense proposition' that a change to the legislated increase would help the economy.

, Mr Rudd said 12 per cent was critical to provide workers with a comfortable retirement.

"That's why [former prime minister Paul] Keating tried to do 12 per cent originally. It's not pulled out of the air by some magical feat. It's based on a calculation about what people ... who have been working throughout their life would need for a decent level of retirement," he said. Industry Super Australia chief executive Bernie Dean said the Coalition MPs are using a false argument to push for a freeze in the super rate."The Prime Minister and Treasurer wouldn't want to risk a generation of Australian workers being dumped on the pension to be their lasting legacy; they know we would all pay for that through higher taxes."

"If policies get reviewed at any point in time, well that's a consideration for that time," Mr Morrison said on Monday.

I don’t know who I have to see but I definitely have to see a medical specialist urgently .. I actually agree with this non achieving emotional hysterical nutter

If you’re so concerned about people having a “comfortable” retirement, then donate your pension to them, krudd. No one owes anybody a “comfortable” retirement... if you want one, then effing well work for it.

The word former is a clue that you have little influence anymore little dumpling.

How does increasing money employers do not have into funds no one is spending. To have employers either dismiss or reduce hours of employees at a time when people need cash in hand right now. ruddthedudd
