Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Greens MP Adam Bandt “is a fool” when it comes to climate science. The Greens co-deputy leader has been criticised by Coalition MPs after he accused the government of “putting people’s lives at risk” due the government's “addicted to coal.” “We have always had bushfires in this country, we have always been a country of droughts and flooding rain, but the question is, why would you want to make it worse?” Mr Bandt told Sky News.

“People have tried to put the government on notice that there are things that they can do to minimise risk and they have done nothing.” Mr Bolt condemned anyone attempting “to blame these fires on global warming and the government”. “So what Adam Bandt and the Greens say is the answer to bushfires, [is to] cut our emissions [and] shut down industries,” Mr Bolt said. “These people are in fact exploiting tragic bushfires to push their fake scare and peddle their totally fake cure”.
