Gaza,Israeli Air Strikes,Palestinians

The director of a Gaza hospital reports that over 50 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes on the Jabalia refugee camp. The war inside Gaza is visible from the nearby city of Sderot, with constant bombardment causing widespread destruction.

Meanwhile, the director of a Gaza hospital says more than 50 Palestinians are dead after Israeli air strikes on the densely populated Jabalia refugee camp. The city of Sderot is one of the closest places you can get to near the Gaza border and you can usually have a clear view into the northern parts of the enclave.

Suddenly there are several loud bangs close by. Israeli tanks stationed near the Gaza border are firing from the ground into the Strip. I see several bright flashes of light, as artillery is fired. The Israel military has accused Hamas, which rules the narrow coastal territory, of using civilian buildings as cover for fighters, commanders and weaponry, accusations it denies.

United Nations officials say more than 1.4 million of Gaza's civilian population of about 2.3 million have been made homeless.Video shows debris, craters and ruined buildings at the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza on Tuesday after the area was hit by Israeli air strikes. "During the afternoon hours, infantry and armored forces secured a central Hamas stronghold in the west part of Jabalia," Hagari said.

He expressed deep concern at the risk of a "dangerous escalation" beyond Gaza and called the level of aid getting into the Palestinian territory "completely inadequate".He again condemned "the acts of terror perpetrated by Hamas" against Israel on October 7, and the killing of civilians in Gaza, saying he was "dismayed by reports that two-thirds of those who have been killed are women and children.
