Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out a ceasefire in Gaza unless the hostages held by Hamas are released.
"I made clear that we are continuing full force and that Israel refuses a temporary ceasefire which does not include the release of our hostages," Mr Netanyahu said in his televised statement. "America is entirely responsible for the ongoing war on Gaza and its people, and Israel is simply a tool of execution," Nasrallah said in a televised broadcast.
The UN human rights office called escalating tensions in the West Bank "alarming and urgent" on Friday, saying Israeli forces were increasingly using military tactics and weapons in law enforcement operations there. "We have serious concerns that the principles of distinction and proportionality are not being respected by both sides," she said.
