I understand the Judges dissent. However, I remember when Wilisee? went to interview Pell before he was a Cardinal, about alleged sexual molestation of young Choir Boys. That was early 70's. Pell was the absolute rudest person in that interview. You must have tapes of Pell then.
Read the Appeals Court full judgement. It’s easy to read. Then objectively put yourself on the jury, even on the bench, then put yourself in the dock. It is fascinating outside the court of opinion or media bites. The article is poor in concluding all the Justices position.
Curious Non-lawyer asks: How is it that an Appeals Court which has a sizeable percentage of reasonable doubt within itself is able to make a clear binding decision over a jury’s ’reasonable doubt'? Happy to be educated here on our legal system.

Why the dissenting judge believed George Pell should walk freeOne of the three Court of Appeal judges who heard George Pell's appeal believes there is a 'significant possibility' the cardinal did not commit the child sex crimes he's in jail for and would have acquitted him. Just finished reading Weinberg JA dissenting opinion. It is very compelling and will result in a High Court challenge, IMO. And two didn't. Which is why he remains in jail. The other Two DISMISSED his appeal. !!!!

Majority verdict to deny leave to appeal. 2 out of 3 judges agreed the jury’s conviction was reasonable, given the evidence.
