Former Victorian Liberal Party president Michael Kroger says it is about time opponents of the mining sector like the Greens “pay homage” to the mining industry.

The global iron ore price sits at around $190US a ton, which is expected to greatly assist the budget bottom line. Mr Kroger said the opponents of the mining industry needed to recognise “extraordinary assistance” Australian miners provided to the budget bottom line given the dire economic projections of last year’s budget.

“It’s about time … the Labor Party and particularly the Greens pay homage to our mining industry,” he said. “We never hear much from Labor praising our mining industry praising our great mining companies. “It’s about time the opponents of the mining industry basically said, ‘we might not like you but boy you’re good for our country’.”

Labor, Greens slam government decision to put childcare in the women's budget | Sky News AustraliaThe federal government has announced $3.4 billion in the 2021 Budget for improving the lives of women, however, half the allocated funds are directed to childcare.\n\nThere was $355 million in the budget for women’s health with a national health strategy, funding for infant and stillbirth research, a national endometriosis action plan, and maternal, sexual, and reproductive health programs. \n\nWomen’s economic security was allocated $1.9 billion with $1.7 billion given to childcare for more than two children. \n\nSTEM scholarships were awarded $42 million, with $38 million provided for women’s leadership and development, and $14 million for Indigenous women in business. \n\nLabor and the Greens have slammed the government’s decision to include childcare in the women’s portion of the budget, saying childcare is a family issue and should be treated as such. \n I once heard Malcolm Turnbull say women have to be good role models for their young children by being productive members of society by going to work. Not the exact words but similar... same meaning. It was on the news. I nearly fell off the couch. More tax payers; working women and child care workers. Gotta empower women to be productive members of society, to only feel good about themselves if they have a career.. and send their children to childcare.. Messed up

'Get your facts straight': NT Attorney-General slams Greens senator's speech on youth bail lawsNT Attorney-General Selena Uibo launches a scathing attack on Greens senator Lidia Thorpe after the senator's speech on youth bail laws incorrectly assumed Ms Uibo was a male and 'hopefully' white. Victoria Greens are ruining Australian Greens by abandoning the environment to instead focus on various social issues which are better off resolved minus the politics Vic Labor are cutting down forest, wiping out leadbeater's possum & yet Vic Greens are off on another tangent Even as a Greens supported, Lidia deserved this one. This is a harsh lesson that she'll need to learn. Her original points are valid, but geez, make sure to get things right.... Love this! Get your facts straight, she's a horrible female, not a horrible male. She thinks that's some kind of win?
