Chief Advocate for National Seniors Australia Ian Henschke says the government offered a “pathetic excuse” for neglecting its responsibility to support the elderly.
Mr Henschke’s comments were a response to the royal commission’s recent report which described Australia’s aged care system as “cruel, unkind, unresponsive”.
