Labor Leader AlboMP says it is “absolutely essential” for money in the government’s housing construction stimulus package to be allocated toward community and social housing.

Labor Leader Anthony Albanese says it is “absolutely essential” for money in the government’s housing construction stimulus package to be allocated toward community and social housing. The government is preparing to sign off on a housing stimulus package as part of a plan to create more jobs for the construction industry, with the cabinet’s expenditure review committee conducting a final review on Tuesday.

“It should not be forgotten as part of a comprehensive package which is needed," he said. The Opposition leader said Labor called on the Morrison government to invest in “affordable housing for essential workers ". "People who have kept the economy going through the COVID-19 crisis often can’t afford to live near to where they work," he said. “Superannuation funds have kicked in for investment in affordable housing.

AlboMP How does the waiting list work?

AlboMP How about fixing up Jobkeeper first! Hundreds of Thousand casuals, those in the entertainment and Arts industry that the Goverment threw on the scrap heap, as not true employees of a buisness or company. Every person employed should have gotten Jobkeeper.

LesStonehouse AlboMP And he is right!

AlboMP Good luck with that

AlboMP Hey AlboMP maybe we could use some of that $600 million Gillard lost us today going back to the farmers after she blocked live exports - oops, no that's an ALP fuck up I bet you don't say sorry for.

AlboMP But we could do with a new pool room and spa.

AlboMP That's the only place the money should go is to publicly owned social housing to reduce the long waiting lists & reduce money from fund should go towards house renovations or to the building of investment properties to appease private & corporate investors

AlboMP It's OK AlboMP everyone will get some of the Liberals $60B re-election slush fund.

AlboMP Albo has had less and less valuable stuff to say since becoming labor leader... a true poisoned chalice if ever I’ve seen one.

AlboMP It’s called rent assistance...successive Govts for 40years encouraged Private Rental ...basically Govt sold out of Public Housing due to huge burden, cost of maintenance & social liabilities.Doing the same with Disabilities, Aged care-Govt only doing what no private’s will take on

AlboMP Of course, it stands to reason this ought to be the purpose of such funds. Why wouldn't it be spent as intended? ScottMorrisonMP

AlboMP Yes. Let's build more homes for our welfare recipients. So the tax payer pays for these homes to be built. Then pays the welfare of the people that live in them. More votes for Labor hey Albo. The welfare party.

AlboMP Shut up !!

AlboMP Heaps of room for tents on Christmas Island and other areas like your street for them.

Property developer John Woodman's business run out of building part-owned by Labor ministerThe Opposition is calling for an inquiry as documents show that the property developer at the centre of an anti-corruption probe at Casey Council has been running his business out of a building part-owned by Martin Foley, a senior minister in the Victorian Government.
