Sky News Political Editor aclennell says he fears the week of violent protests triggered by the fatal arrest of George Floyd will end with people “shot by the military”.

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says he fears the week of violent protests triggered by the fatal arrest of George Floyd will end with people “shot by the military”. After failing to suppress protesters from coast to coast across the states, US President Donald Trump warned he would deploy the military to “quickly solve the problem” if a city or state refused to “take the actions necessary to defend the life and property of their residents”.

Mr Clennell said he believed the situation would only be resolved with military action. “Essentially, you will see the President using the Insurrection Act to overrule the governors if this goes on, which you anticipate it might even if they call in the National Guard," he said. “We’ll effectively have several cities in the US under martial law.

aclennell Why do you think skynews in the U.K. have extensively covered anti govt riots in the US for the last 6 days, consistently attacking POTUS in the process, whilst completely ignoring anti govt riots for 60 consecutive weeks in France....and never criticising Macron once?

aclennell Amazing how different our reaction is when other countries do this kind of forceful crackdowns.

aclennell There is an old saying 'Shoot one; educate a million.' - Some of these wicked people could do with being shot. There needs to be a basic sense of justice. People need to wake.

aclennell I get it that black lives matter but when you see a dozen African American loot shops, steal bikes, shoes, clothes, handbags and anything they can get their hands on.....this becomes a different problem altogether and needs to be dealt with. Using force if required.
