Sky News contributor Gemma Tognini says she is 'a little bit lost for words' following reports Israel Folau linked the nation's bushfire and drought crisis to being 'God's punishment' for the legislation of same-sex marriage and abortion. KennyOnSunday

Sky News contributor Gemma Tognini says she is "a little bit lost for words" following reports Israel Folau allegedly linked the nation's bushfire and drought crisis to being "God's punishment" for the legislation of same-sex marriage and abortion.

The former rugby star and devout Christian allegedly made the reported comments while delivering his sermon at the Truth of Jesus Christ Church in Sydney on Sunday. "As a Christian I feel so desperately sad reading that, " Ms Tognini told Sky News host Chris Kenny. "At least I will say this, [Israel Folau] is willing to say what he thinks and stand by his beliefs," Ms Tognini said. "That being said, there's no such thing as freedom from consequences".

jizzy falafel being itself

He can think and say what he likes, but why does the media have to hang on every word he says?

And what did Blinky Bill do to bring down gods wrath, bonk a possum?

China tells us we must repent! Folau tells us we must repent! There's a strange theme going on here! It's like waking up in the Middle Ages or something!

I see no bushfires in Sydney’s inner west, so how does Israel Folau explain this?

Gemma doesn’t seem fazed with climate cultists like Greens linking bushfires with Coalition’s ‘inaction in climate change’. Both are absurd and fanciful ‘evangelistic’ claims ...but only one receives media ridicule & only one loses their job because it it auspol tms7 Folau

When a country grows in science , economies and human study they feel they are wiser than the One who created them just like little children think they know more until they grow up unfortunately some will die never having grown up

I agree with Janet at the australian. You have the right to say what you like but sometimes you just shouldn't say it. What a pile on to all those people who have lost lives, animals, homes with a lifetime of memories, livelihoods etc.

And unicorns run around in the outback, hahahahahahaha, maybe its too many hits to your head mate

He has the right to say whatever he wants and we have the right to call him a dickhead for it.

Now THAT is called brainwashing, steeped in superstition.

Yes, he's talking rubbish, using religion as his platform, but aren't all religions the same, all using God, Allah, Whoever to foster their beliefs and will. Why pick on him, Catholics, COE, Anglican, Islam, you name them, They're all doing the same.

Is it that weird in a country that still circumcises babies based on old religious traditions ? That swears on the Bible in our court of law?

Lost for words? Fundamental religious people have always thought like this. Why is it suddenly such a story now? noonecares

did he tweet this? were the comments made at a press conference? what he says inside his church is for his congregation. The greens of the other hand spew their garbage out in public to offend everyone, not just the green worshipers

What a shameful thing to say.

Oh dear, keep your mouth shut mate.

Go away.

Thats why Jesus never joined Jerusalem CFA ☝️

You know, I also used to wonder if the Muslims were so faithful, why ks the Middle East always at war? Why does Indonesia always have disasters? Why do Americans kill each other? Etc etc...

Well seeing how Aussie sport has shown him the door, I guess he has nothing to lose now, does he? Q

Opinions I don't care about however if there are actions then there needs to be consequences. In this case I don't care

And Rugby Australia has a huge sigh of relief. Better get Alan Jones on the case to defend him.

The Lord...and folau really do work in mysterious ways

Yeah but is he any different from the religious rubbish that Adam Bandt talks

We don't care what some God-bothering footballer BELIEVES is causing the problems...we care what the world's leading scientists KNOW is causing the problems!

So he is saying god punishes those on same sex marriage with nature but god doesn't bother punishing terrorist and evil cults like the one he follows. Yeah that makes real sense

I don’t agree with him, but he’s entitled to say it. It’s only slightly more delusional than the Greens saying the bushfires are caused by climate change!

There’s some good to come out of it then.

Can he explain why only Australia is being punished? Other nations have passed the same laws and are not burning!

A little bit? A comment such as this from Folau should come as no surprise at all.

l have to agree scripture speaks about man woman and child. We are to have a family unit, God designed this for the human race. Men and women would leave their father and mother and become one flesh and women would be a compliment to the man the weaker vessel Proverbs 33:10-31

Why does anyone think that Folau's comments are of interest?

Seeing how devastating the bush fires are, he is one pissed off god. I wonder? is there a therapist that he can see to deal with his anger issues that he has 😜

Just as crazy as ClimateHoax

Lulz.. it was bound to happen sooner or later, and who better than Folau to put their foot in this bucket.

This is why we need a constitution with enshrined freedom of speech. Throw in 2A while we’re at it.

Noozzzz

Yeah he has stupid beliefs...but the stupid award of the year goes to those 'journalists' that continue to give his beliefs air time

I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt before. But now, the word fruit loop comes to mind. Lol.

Ignore him. Not worth the oxygen it takes to get irritated.

You know what’s more concerning? That there’s people who are concerned about what some dude thinks is an invisible thing that lives in the sky is punishing humanity after it created humanity over exactly why it created humanity in the first place. Who gives thy shite!

Pa-leeeese where is ur outrage over the fat little lesbeeun that used the fires for her feminist agenda. It rubs both ways.

What a Classic! ROFL.. Right back at 'em Folau. Bit extreme, but so are the Climate alarmists.. 😂 I can't stop laughing 😂 😂

Well at least he's not blaming climate change like the rest of you muppets

Oh no, God is responsible for a lot of things, or everything - just ask the people who thinks he exists 😂😂😂

Prove him wrong then👍

Well you have people saying it's climate change and it isn't so seriously what's the problem, everyone has the opinion do they not

IzzyFolau For God so ❤️ the world that he gave is only begotten Son Jesus Christ that everybody that believes in Him will live and not perish.

'That being said, there's no such thing as freedom from consequences'. WOW you've finally got it😳

rvpredv thoughts?

He's allowed his own opinion. Each to their own. Whether we agree with it or not.

He’s wrong of course. God’s punishment for these atrocities is going to be so WAY WAY WAY WAY worse.

Climate change and religion - 2 mythical ideologies...

If idiots believe climate change caused the drought and bushfires, what Folau is saying is similar, only that he is worshipping at the altar of a different god.

Israel Folau is a homophobic rat

Well we're all supposed to nod and cheer when the nutty ones say it's all climate change (yep...that 0.0004 degree increase over the last 100 years if you pick the right outliers). Folau's claims are just as nutty, but why is everyone now aghast?!

Not too lost, you wrote an article for some attention.

Oh Israel you haven’t covered yourself with glory with this outburst. I think the last thing our fire victims need is you casting this judgement on them. Better you pray for them, than preach to them.

What does the climate science say about this potential contributor to the climate crisis ?

Pathetic excuse for a human being

Ah sky's poster boy for religious views puts both feet in his mouth this time, I'm sure Murray and kenny will come out telli g us how correct he is 😂😂😂

Remember when your entire night time line up were defending Folau? We do.

I think I will wait until it's not alleged, lot of Bullshit around these days.

As long as we have freedom of religion in Aus he's entitled to believe what he likes. Personally, I think he's wrong. But that doesn't mean I wont be civil if I ever meet Izzy, he's got his beliefs, I've got mine, life goes on.

God is all love. - not hardship suffering pain and death - that’s the other guy

Well has anyone from even contacted him over his comments, and give him a chance to explain it.
