For the first time in Australia, a farmer is taking legal action against Monsanto — the manufacturer of Roundup — claiming it caused his cancer.

In a statement, the National Farmers' Federation says the link between glyphosate exposure and cancer is a myth. The National Farmers' Federation declined to comment on the case and directed the ABC to its media release claiming the link between glyphosate and cancer was a"myth".

That assessment is also supported by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority, which is the federal statutory agency responsible for the management and regulation of all agricultural and veterinary chemical products in Australia. Cancer Council Australia's chief executive, Professor Sanchia Aranda said the International Agency for Research on Cancer had classified glyphosate as a probable carcinogen.

There are no safe chemicals. Even the ones we ingest each day in our foods. Ever so slowly we are learning the sad truths.

If you/your clothes are 'drenched' in RoundUp, you're not using it according to the label instructions.

Fact: More people have died using Rexona than Roundup.

I remember a Chem-Cert instructor telling the class I was in that we could it was so safe that we could “practically put RoundUp on our breakfast cereal.” That is the sort of messaging that has been in the professional agriculture educational marketplace about RoundUp.

We’re constantly told to believe the science re climate change, so why do opportunistic lawyers & plaintiffs ignore it when it comes to glyphosate? Oh - forgot: money!!!

he should claim that FullMoon caused it..

Chinese-language signs didn't change voters' minds, AEC saysControversial Chinese-language signs saying that the 'correct way' to vote was Liberal cannot be proved to have swayed voters, the Australian Electoral Commission claims. auspol rharris334 Proved to have swayed voters can not be the standard. It was deliberately misleading. That should be all that matters. My questions:- 1) How were they able to copy AEC banners in advance of polling day? 2) How much 'lead time' did they have to replicate the banners, translate lies into Chinese etc. 3) Who did the banners & when? 4) Did someone at the AEC leak info to the Gladys mob in advance? Seems the AEC is determined to undermine itself. They were the last Australian institution that we had confidence in. Sigh.
