The first astronauts have landed on China’s space station, marking the first crewed spaceflight in almost five years and the third of 11 missions planned to build the hub.

The journey to the space station was seven hours, most of which was “getting that docking right” so it would be safe to enter the station, according to ANU astrophysicist and cosmologist Dr Brad Tucker. “It’s amazing how quickly you can get into space, space isn’t that dramatically far away, they’re only about 400 kilometres up,” he told Sky News.

Dr Tucker said due to the fact this was the first crewed mission to the in-construction space station, there would be no need to schedule it around other things but extra caution would be used to ensure safety. “You go on up and then you’re at your cruising altitude almost like a plane taking off for the better part of the rest of the time, matching the speeds, matching the angles, and getting that docking right for that position," he continued.

ATAGI reveals 12 cases of clotting related to the AstraZeneca vaccine | Sky News AustraliaChief Medical Officer Professor Paul Kelly says there have been 12 cases of blood clotting connected to the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in the last week.\n\nSeven of these cases occurred in people aged between 50 and 59-years-old at a rate similar to that of those in the under-50s category.\n\nProfessor Kelly said the rates of blood clots for over-50s is behind the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation's (ATAGI) decision to lift the age recommendation for the AstraZeneca vaccine to 60-year-olds and over.\n\n“The benefit of AstraZeneca in over 60s remains much higher than the risk of this particularly rare, but sometimes serious syndrome, and so people over 60 should still be rolling up to their GP or wherever they are getting their AstraZeneca vaccine,” he said.\n\nProfessor Kelly said those who had already received the first dose of AstraZeneca to get the second dose and not to mix COVID-19 vaccines. \n Why is the LNP trying to bump off boomers? I thought they were pro boomer? FollowtheSilence
