Scientists say the East Australian Current is stronger than they anticipated and an enormous amount of warm water is flooding south. So what does that mean for our oceans?

CSIRO marine scientists have set off on a voyage along Australia's east coast, studying the changes and marine life in the East Australian CurrentThis voyage will paint a picture of those changes to help scientists understand what is happening and the consequencesThe EAC is like an oceanic river that flows the length of Australia's east coast, from the Great Barrier Reef toThe current carries warm, low-nutrient water from the Coral Sea to the cold southern waters of the Tasman Sea,...

Marine scientists from Australia's CSIRO have been studying the current using deep-water moorings, the first of which was deployed in 2012. Zooplankton is found in deep waters off the coast of far-north Queensland but is expected Tasmania will also see it. Professor Pitt says her jellyfish research will help establish baseline knowledge about their movements for the future.

"I don't think that's the case. I think that there's some jellyfish that might be problematic and become more abundant in some places, but I think there's some species of jellyfish that we might be losing."She said the study would also focus on the role of jellyfish as prey for other animals, to understand which species are eating them."They've been forming blooms in the world oceans for over half a billion years.

Biden in ‘cognitive decline’ at the centre of potential new Middle East war | Sky News AustraliaHamas is testing US President Joe Biden to see what concessions might be achievable under “weak American leadership,” according to Sky News host Alan Jones.\n\nMr Jones said the ongoing violence in Gaza which has entered its second week gave rise to fears of a new Middle East war.\n\n“At the centre of all this is the inept and incompetent President of the United States of America,” he said.\n\nFormer Obama administration State Department official, Brett Bruen, said President Biden came into office and tried to put the issue of Israel on the “back burner” hoping it will go away.\n\nMr Jones said it is hard to imagine how a “78-year-old in cognitive decline” can comprehend these issues let alone address them.\n\nHe said the real reason for the Hamas attacks is to test the Biden administration to see what concessions it can get.\n We all know hamas wouldn’t have dared to strike tel aviv if trump was still president! Because they wouldn’t want WWIII anymore than the rest of us. That does not mean Israel isn’t committing war crimes. PS. Trump was a danger to ALL of us. You too. Taiwan is next
