The federal government has touted Australia's strong economic recovery after the number of people relying on JobKeeper payments declined by more than 35,000. ATO data shows more than 1.
5 million people relied on the relief payment in November, a figure which is down from more than 1.6 million the previous month. More than 3.6 million workers and around one million businesses received the payment at the start of the pandemic. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says Australian citizens can look to the future with confidence.
Tourism based businesses whose sales are down 30+% on 2019 will need support beyond March National borders closed to save us all That move has cut off a huge chunk of revenue to those businesses Reasonable tht we all support them That’s what Australians do JoshFrydenberg auspol
How many of those people were just let go from their employment? Because I assume they’re counted in this 35,000 number as well
Except for the couple thousand international airport workers or the casual workers who you guys refused to put on jobkeeper, making a wider gap between the poor and middle class, also don't forget robodebt, they did murder +2k people
Excellent job by the government. Imagine if we’d had to face this crisis with an inept Shorten government. We’d be bankrupt and still locked down in our homes!
Might good but how people lost everything or someone because didn’t shut international boarders fast enough
Not bad. We made it. Well done!
Yep, grand job 👏👏👏
