Elon Musk is due to face trial in a defamation case brought against him by a British diver he allegedly accused of being a paedophile.

In a now deleted tweet, the Tesla founder described Vernon Unsworth as a "pedo guy".

Mr Unsworth was part of a team credited with rescuing 12 boys trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand. In a court filing, Mr musk said the term was "a common insult used in South Africa and it is synonymous with 'creepy old man' and not to accuse a person of paedophilia”.
