The driver of a station wagon who crashed into a Sydney hijab shop, injuring 14 people, has been charged with driving furiously in a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and a host a traffic infringements.
The 51-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Hospital on Thursday night after the crash and underwent mandatory testing before being taken to Bankstown Police Station. But following further inquiries, the man was re-arrested at a home on Wangee Road, Greenacre, about 1pm on Friday, police said in a statement.
The man was also charged with driving recklessly and not giving his details to another driver in relation to an unrelated traffic incident at Lakemba on 14 January. The crash at Greenacre happened about 3.10pm on Thursday.
Another good reason why (small) shop owners need control of safety measures when venues are at dangerous locations & intersections. Councils either own blame, or must relent to concerns and establish appropriate barricades. Why can Westfileds close down entire streets?
How is it 14 people were close enough to be hit by one car in one boutique clothing store during C19 restrictions? Are the police going to be issuing breach of health order fines?
What a total oxymoron....Muslim and Fashion. WTF
Amazing how many Muslims were injured and needed to go to hospital. 14... The most serious being a broken ankle. Wait for the compo claims.
Thought he had problems with his sugarlevels! No reason to charge him, it’s a medical failure!!
At the risk of seeming to be insensitive to the injured, the fact that we have a retail outlet for this oppressive, anti-Western garment in Sydney should be a warning to our immigration authorities.
The crime might increase by the stress release.
Hijab house...where are the women's rights protesters.....crickets!
