Victoria's Supreme Court is due to decide the future of a Tamil family detained on Christmas Island on Wednesday.

Victoria's Supreme Court is due to decide the future of a Tamil family detained on Christmas Island. A hearing on the case has been set down for Wednesday, but there is no guarantee a ruling will be made.

Priya, Nades and their Australian-born daughters are in limbo, as the family fights deportation to Sri Lanka. The government argues the family-of-four are not refugees and making an exception could restart the people smuggling trade.
