Breaking: Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has confirmed there are 450 new cases of coronavirus. There have been a further 11 deaths since yesterday, bringing the total death toll to 181

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton has taken the podium at the Victorian coronavirus update and commented on today's figure of 450 new cases."I think it is important to make the point that we have seen fluctuations. We've seen very significant ups and downs with numbers. That can occur with batching of results from our laboratories. But the trend overall is that we're kind of sitting at four to 500 cases a day. That is relatively flat over the last week.

Professor Sutton refused to put a clear date on when he would expect to see numbers beginning to fall consistently, but said he would expect to see trends change two weeks on from the start of stage four."Having seen stabilisation in numbers, that's a – that's a positive. "This is the toughest element of going through COVID-19 in a school environment. We've seen higher absence rates from our vulnerable cohorts.

Victorian Education Minister James Merlino has announced an "extraordinary" change to how special consideration will be conducted for Victorian students in Year 12."Previously, special consideration is based on a case-by-case basis.

He said students will go into their exams "knowing that their final scores and their ATAR ranking will be a fair reflection of their year, and they will not be disadvantaged as a result of COVID-19". “People were home, pleasingly … 1000 of those 1150 people could be found where they were supposed to. The 150 who could not, they have been referred to Victoria Police.”There are 2454 coronavirus cases in Victoria with unknown source, an aggregate 66 cases since yesterday's report.

Lockdown not working. Get a new leader COVID19Vic auspol

Watching his press conference and as usual, won’t answer any worthwhile questions and when he does it’s just a load of waffle. Talked about creating jobs....well it’s a funny way to go about it when you shut things like lawn mowing etc. This mob really have no idea😤😤

2 weeks of mask wearing has essentially not budged numbers. Which leaves the obvious question... Were people still going out while infected and spreading it? If so, thanks mongrels.
