Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton has taken the podium at the Victorian coronavirus update and commented on today's figure of 450 new cases."I think it is important to make the point that we have seen fluctuations. We've seen very significant ups and downs with numbers. That can occur with batching of results from our laboratories. But the trend overall is that we're kind of sitting at four to 500 cases a day. That is relatively flat over the last week.

Professor Sutton refused to put a clear date on when he would expect to see numbers beginning to fall consistently, but said he would expect to see trends change two weeks on from the start of stage four."Having seen stabilisation in numbers, that's a – that's a positive.
