These Australian families say the 14-day quarantine would be safer at home than in a hotel

When the Veivers-Brown family relocated to Singapore five years ago, they could not have predicted the challenges they would face in returning home.

But it’s the two-week stay in paid hotel quarantine for international arrivals - and now some interstate arrivals -that has proven the most challenging.Xavier has an autoimmune disease which requires careful day to day management and leaves him particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. Ms Minogue has denied being given"celebrity treatment" and was permitted by the Queensland Government to stay in a private Gold Coast residence after arriving in Australia with her 10-year-old son in July.

The family are hoping to leave quarantine by the end of the week, with the stay costing them close to $9,000 after they chose to pay for an extra room for the two boys.Several states including Queensland and New South Wales are now placing hotel quarantine restrictions on some domestic travellers who are also charged for their 14 days in hotel quarantine.

And when the cops come to check on them, and they're not home... Yeah nah

Why are people Australians or not still being allowed to enter Australia they have had months to get home.Closed shut boarders should mean SHUT TOTALLY.

Can't be trusted to stay home, that's why you do your time at a hotel where you can be watched.

All I want is the person checking my passport, driving my bus, showing me to my quarantine room, and guarding the hallway to wear masks to protect me. A window for ventilation also please. IStillCallAustraliaHome but the thought of repatriating terrifies me.

I agree. Even if you had to hire a security guard to escort you home. Big fine for breaking quarantine. It’s a no brainer.
