The Prime Minister is being urged to put a stop to a series of Liberal Party fundraisers planned to take place at Parliament House later this month, when parliamentary sittings resume.

The WA Liberals said the Capital Hill fundraisers would comply with all coronavirus restrictions, and were not large gatherings.

Zali Steggall says the focus at Parliament House should be on constituents and not political fundraisers.Ms Steggall, the member for the Sydney-based lower house seat of Warringah, said many people had been frustrated that some parliamentary sittings were cancelled, and were worried about whether the Government was being appropriately scrutinised.

But Senator Birmingham defended his attendance, arguing that, as Tourism Minister, he was in favour of events that supported the hospitality industry, as long as they complied with coronavirus restrictions."People shouldn't compound their pain by criticising events that support economic activity and protect local jobs, when they are being conducted entirely within the strict COVID guidelines.

Scandalous Liberal Fundraisers Planned at Unsafe Parliament House

Concerns? Naah... let em go !! Karma will bite their dumbasses hard

So why is it too dangerous for Parliament to sit but fundraisers are perfectly safe?

Rules do not apply to Liberals

Why concerns. The libs were so bloody scared of the House they refused to return to work, but it is okay to party there. LNPCrimeFamily LNPfail Leaners living off the public purse. ForShame MoreRorts

No no they should definitely go ahead with it! 🦠😁

Can this government get any more shit

When the rest of Australia is under restrictions, doing it tough, lost their jobs or sick or dying - the born to rule mentality of the Liberals is to ................party to raise money for......... Themselves. auspol

They can't even turn up to work & don't seem concerned over that, but now so concerned over fundraiser! Enough to make me sick.

While safe distances are a crucial precaution, perhaps our 'leaders' should be leading by example, instead of just preaching at us. Large meetings of pollies from all over the country seem inadvisable.

Perhaps BLM should ask their protesters for donations. Could then be a fundraiser, not a protest.

Mcali4 The Parliament House should not be used for partisan political events. FULL STOP If there isn't a law that prevents this then there damn well should be! Q: Is the LNP even paying the full hire fee for PH venues?

The Liberal party can't attend parliament but can organise and attend a fundraiser for the party. Get back to work in Canberra you lazy bunch of good for nothings. Answer some questions about aged care and the Ruby Princess debacles while you're at it

the Liberal Party is broke and can't afford venues

NEW WORLD ORDER FASCISTS

If they can have parties, they can bloody well do their jobs now. No need to make service people and cleaners infected. Greedy f**ks.

So. Can’t sit for Parliament but happy to get some people through the door to get the ‘pay for privileges’ scheme underway and fill those pockets. My Government at Work 👍

Wondering if their plan to fundraise is better than their Aged Care COVID Plan that has killed hundreds in Aged Care.?!

Hopefully any interstate guests are stopped at the ACT Border or Airport and sent home.

Why is any political party allowed to use Parliament House for partisan fund raising?

Don't these two look utterly soulless and bereft of humanity ? True Conservatives.

How can it be that staff can't attend parliament, the public can't attend but it's ok to hold Liberal Party fundraisers?

But if these don't go ahead how will the Liberal party know what policies to take forward?

Why don't Aussies remove politicians from parliament. Cowards, weak, unintelligent zombie slaves.

Ya think!

Inquiry to investigate rationale for fast-tracked damsThe rationale behind the NSW government's decision to fast-track three dams and two other water infrastructure projects will be examined in an upper house parliamentary inquiry | HatAlexander HatAlexander Presumably because it makes too much sense and we can't have that. HatAlexander Dams kill riverine ecosystems because money and power steal all the water. Rivers become solely irrigation channels. We know both major political parties are bought and paid for. Taxpayers will build the dams to be later drained by agribusiness. HatAlexander Obviously they're being fast tracked to make the wealthiest on Earth more wealthy. That is what politicians do.
