Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says New South Wales has been a standout in terms of its performance in managing the virus and keeping its economy open. “It’s the single largest economy in the country, it’s very important,” Mr Frydenberg said.

He then went on to talk about the effects borders have on jobs. “We do know is that closed borders cost jobs.” August’s unemployment rate came in at 6.8 per cent, significantly lower than anticipated by economists. Image: News Corp Australia

JoshFrydenberg Sounds like he and ScoMo been having a golden shower with Gladys. The adulation is sickening

JoshFrydenberg

JoshFrydenberg Well of course he would say that. Rest assured if GladysB was a Labor Premier JoshFrydenberg would be saying the exact opposite.

JoshFrydenberg

JoshFrydenberg This is what we want Victoria to be like. Open up the economy! More people will attract COVID-19 but we don't care!

JoshFrydenberg Absolute BS. The Ruby Princess alone was the start of the problem in Australia. A failure of NSW health & federal Border Force. Any human with at least one brain cell understands that. The LNP/Sky tactic has shifted from slamming ALP states to praising NSW. How fkn transparent

JoshFrydenberg West Austrlia already recovered 3/4 of all job losses and economy is clearly on the rebound. All while having closed borders and near zero covid cases. While NSW is doing well its clearly not as gold standard as the government is claiming.

JoshFrydenberg

JoshFrydenberg Go and live there we will not miss you

JoshFrydenberg low testing and simmering case numbers..if josh gets onboard, keep the borders closed clueless leave it to the medicos not the worst money manager Australia has ever had...

WA treasurer says unemployment figures vindicate state's COVID response | Sky News AustraliaWestern Australia Treasurer Ben Wyatt says the unemployment data released on Thursday vindicates his state’s economic response to the pandemic.\n\n“When you look around the world at the analysis that is being done, a strong response, that is a strong health response is the best economic policy as well,” he said.\n\n“That again is being confirmed with today’s unemployment data”.\n\nThe Treasurer described Western Australia’s job growth as “very strong” but said the seven per cent unemployment rate was “too high” and needed to be brought down.\n\n“The fundamentals of the WA economy are strong, indeed the fundamentals of the Australian economy are strong,' Mr Wyatt told the media. \n\n“That means we are seeing jobs come back into the Australian system fairly quickly.” \n\nImage: News Corp Australia benwyatt Dear WA ‘treasurer’, can you please update us to how many ‘new’ jobs were created by the private sector versus public sector (ie - gov’t jobs)? Reason I ask is because govt interference in society (via gov’t spending which is actual taxation ) is the cause of wealth inequality. benwyatt the only state in the country not running on pokie machines..lol benwyatt Sure does. A shame SkidMo and Fraudenberg couldn’t say well done. They just attack borders even though we in WA are powering back

South Australia opens borders to ACT | Sky News AustraliaSouth Australian Police Commissioner Grant Stevens has announced the state will open its border to ACT residents, however visiting New South Wales residents will still be forced to quarantine.\n\n“We are requiring people to make a declaration on their pre-approval, and we expect people to be honest,” he said.\n\nThe Police Commissioner said South Australia would “continue to monitor the performance of NSW as it relates to community transmission.\n\n“Ideally we’ll be looking for a 14-day period with no community transmission in NSW which would give us the comfort to remove that 14-day quarantine,' Mr Stevens said. \n\n“We are advised daily by health in terms of where we currently sit.”\n\nImage: News Corp Australia So Canberraians will be beamed up and into SA without setting foot in NSW, dick heads Sounds suspect. Gotta move the news cycle past Morrison's shameful disrespect of the dead and their family. Heartless bastard. I'm sure the PM was happy to call in a favour from the SA Libs.

Blue collar workers in Minnesota gravitate towards President Trump | Sky News AustraliaThe Republican Party is zeroing in on Minnesota ahead of the 2020 election in the United States as blue collar Democrat voters gravitate towards President Donald Trump.\n\nBlue collar workers used to be strong Democrat voters but many working in mining have become pro-Trump due to his economic policies which supported manufacturing in the region and across the country.\n\nA Minnesotan local said, “as a person I find him a little bit offensive but his politics, his governing, his leadership, I’m on board”.\n Economic growth and jobs are top priority for Trump, not the Cimate Change Hoax. Devistating news for the Democrats, Minnesota has been in Democrat hands since the 1930s, broken since 1979 one of the longest held Democrat states. Forget blue collar people ....what about women they are half the voting population in Minnesota. Trump has problems there.
