Climate activists are so sure they’re right but are still afraid of scrutiny, and of being judged on trust cost impacts, according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“For years people like me have been saying that climate science is not settled as activists like to say, anymore than pandemic science is settled”.

“All of us want to do the right thing by the environment, but there’s just no way we should be damaging our economy in an endless quest to reduce emissions,” Ms Credlin said. Ms Credlin said rather than having proper and meaningful debate, climate activists instead have pushed to just shut people down. “A good part of the reason why they want this debate shut down is to limit information to voters”.

Reining in debt and deficit just as important as fixing Victoria’s COVID spike | Sky News AustraliaGovernments always have to be careful about new spending programs even during a crisis as they immediately develop a vocal constituency urging to keep them in place according to Sky News host Peta Credlin.\n\nMs Credlin said the budget deficit for 2020 is likely to amount to close to $100 billion, while the government debt will likely top $1 trillion in the next few years.\n\n“Reining in debt and deficit is every bit as important as reining in Victoria’s spike in corona cases”.\n\nThe current iteration of the JobSeeker payments is forecast to cost the Australian taxpayer nearly $10 billion, while the JobKeeper program will come in at close to $10 billion per month.\n\n“However, justified they were then, the problem was always going to be taking them away, given that both businesses and job seekers, inevitably were going to become dependent on them”.\n\n“The instant they're there, they develop a massive, and vocal constituency, to keep them.”\n\nImage: Getty There will be huge changes coming to the financial system if I had to guess. The main change I can see is that education and media will be overhauled.

ABC 'preaches to the mainstream' but is often 'removed from the realities' | Sky News AustraliaAt the national broadcaster, ABC personalities and their supporters alike are pushing the notion the government’s modest budget saving will undermine the social fabric of the nation says Sky News host Chris Kenny. \n\nPrime Minister Scott Morrison recently dismissed ABC funding concerns after the public broadcaster announced up to 250 jobs would be cut.\n\nWhile the total government funding given to the ABC is increasing year-on-year, its operational funding has been frozen at 2018 levels, costing the public broadcaster $84 million.\n\nThe ABC said many of the cuts to jobs and programs announced were a result of that shortfall.\n\nMr Kenny said he has illustrated many times the amount of “tosh” produced for the ABC Life website, all at the taxpayers’ expense. \n\n“So, the good news is that ABC Life will be no more … it'll change to ABC local, and maybe, just maybe, it'll do something useful with your money,” he said. \n\nRegarding the funding freeze, Mr Kenny said, “the reaction from ABC personalities and their supporters suggest these modest budget savings will not only seriously damage the national broadcaster but undermine the social fabric of the nation”. \n FatherBob Actually, it’s nonsense like Sky ‘news’ and other programs that undermine the social fabric of the nation. A bit late with this one. Anybody that cares has read the reports last week and knows what happening. Chris is still jealous of the ABC and all their supporters. While he's stuck on Sky ranting away on stuff he thinks people care about. As opposed to , which preaches to a minority and is always removed from reality? 🤷‍♂️
