Chris suddenly 'woke up' at the shops. He didn't know he'd had a stroke

When Chris Gilmour suffered a stroke earlier this year his first thought wasn’t to get to a hospital, but to make sure he brought home the loaf of bread he’d been sent to get from the shops.

Mr Gilmour had just picked up his daughter from school and was making a quick stop on the way home when he suddenly felt odd and disoriented.Despite being completely disoriented and confused about what was happening to him, the 43-year-old said he latched onto one goal.“I thought 'well I’ve come in here for bread, I need to get the bread because the wife will expect me to come home with bread',” he said.

This resulted in his severely jumbled speech, as well as a condition where his brain was not “perceiving” one side of his body, leading to his disorientation.Dr David Rosengren, the hospital’s executive director and emergency physician, treated Mr Gilmour that afternoon, and said the fact he sought treatment quickly meant the fallout from the stroke was relatively minor.

Emphasising the need for immediate action will be the key message of Stroke Week, starting Monday, September 2. They used new techniques to isolate the part of his brain being affected by the blood clot, and then made the call to give him blood-thinning drugs to dissolve it.

Discrepancies emerge about the morning William Tyrrell went missing75-year-old neighbour Paul Savage told the court that he didn't hear William's foster father crying - contrary to his police statement. Wow, like, couldnt see that happening.... 🙄 75 year olds can say anything. I want to ask the police if the area around the dams, the grass, the mounds and hills have been explored for William. At least for a 5 Km radius. (The boy is slightly autistic. Paedophiles thrive on this image)
