75-year-old neighbour Paul Savage told the court that he didn't hear William's foster father crying - contrary to his police statement.

A number of discrepancies have emerged in a neighbour's recollection about what happened the fateful morning William Tyrrell disappeared without a trace.

Questioned about the discrepancy, Mr Savage said he couldn't remember hearing the man and hadn't seen his statement recently. He also told the court that when he went to speak to William's foster grandmother – a 30-second conversation – she told him that "I'm pretty sure that's what she told me, she went inside for a cuppa and when she came out the little fella was missing. That's just something that I must have thought of recently."

75 year olds can say anything. I want to ask the police if the area around the dams, the grass, the mounds and hills have been explored for William. At least for a 5 Km radius. (The boy is slightly autistic. Paedophiles thrive on this image)

'Your memory is cloudy': Key witness in William Tyrrell inquest changes his storyPeople in a packed gallery sit up when inconsistencies begin to appear in the testimony of person of interest Paul Savage, a neighbour who claimed he joined in the search for the missing three-year-old. Senile witnesses. Don't know what they saw. With respect I think you could reconsider the use of the word 'dull'. It may be tiresome, repetitive, tedious to be an outsider listening to evidence presented in a coronial, however, this is a child's life. Getting the facts should never be thought of as 'dull'. 👍🏽
