Climate activists like Greta Thunberg just want to 'upend society': Canavan | Sky News AustraliaResources Minister Matt Canavan says the real concern of environmental activists like Greta Thunberg is not about climate change, but to “upend society” and to “move away from capitalism”.\n\nAfter the Swedish teenager tried to expose a German telecommunications group, Siemens, as a contractor for the Adani Coal mine, Mr Canavan intervened and secured the company to stay and complete railway signalling at the site.\n\nMr Canavan told Sky News, “common sense has once again prevailed,” and said the “likes of Greta Thunberg” claim to be concerned with emissions reduction.\n\n“Their policy prescriptions aren’t actually about reducing carbon emissions, it’s about the radical massive changes to our economy and society”, he said.\n\nImage: AP Oh they get worse and worse A 15 year old protests by herself. Fast forward 2 years & canavan says her goal is to upend society. If thats true, its only due to a realisation 80% of people are being screwed by morally bankrupt billionaires & their proxies holding 90% of the worlds wealth. Why support that? Gotta love the right wing protecting rampant capitalism. Meanwhile, many of our largest companies turning over billions pay no tax.

Koala relocation petition 'takes the prize for absolute green stupidity': Smith | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says a new online petition calling for the relocation of Australia’s koala population to New Zealand “takes the prize for absolute green stupidity”. \n\nThe wildlife advocacy group, ‘Koala Relocation Society,’ says the iconic Australian animal should be relocated to eucalyptus plantations in New Zealand to ensure their survival. \n\nIt comes as Environment Minister Sussan Ley had warned on Monday koalas could be classified as endangered after taking an extraordinary hit in the bushfire crisis. \n\nSpeaking from Port Macquarie Koala Hospital Ms Ley and Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced a $50 million fund to help affected wildlife recover.\n\n'Now for starters, the words koala and relocation are an anathema,” Mr Smith said. \n\n“Koalas don't relocate well at all'. \n\n“Of all the balmy ideas floated through this bushfire period, the trophy goes to... a mob of complete dingbats,' he said. \n\nImage: Getty Im sure the Koalas are having a great time here. Being incinerated, their habitat destroyed. A PM that wont even fork out for a waterbomber....as if its his fuckin money If I was a Koala id be applying for political asylum to get away from a shithouse backwater run by imbeciles Agree 100% with peak stupidity 😀 Thought our koalas needed eucalyptus leaves to thrive, not Jacinda's halal meat.
