The upcoming debate between vice-presidential candidates Mike Pence and Kamala Harris will be more significant due to the possibility both “could find themselves president sooner rather than later, Sky News US contributor Cameron Stewart says. The age of both presidential candidates coupled with the threat of the coronavirus means there is an increased chance the vice president will be called upon to step in as leader, Mr Stewart said.

“You can bet your bottom dollar Mike Pence will run for President after Trump is gone and Kamala Harris will run for President almost certainly in four years’ time”. Speaking of the debate, Mr Stewart said “I think what you’re going to see from Pence is going to be very much to frame Kamala Harris as a creature of the Democratic party's Left and advocating socialist policies.

Sharp focus must be on Kamala Harris’ ‘authoritarian-woke’ tendencies | Sky News AustraliaJoe Biden will “not be running the show” if he defeats Donald Trump in November, instead power will no doubt rest with running mate Kamala Harris and a “coterie of Obama handovers,” says Sky News host James Morrow.\n\nMr Morrow said Thursday’s vice presidential debate between Senator Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence must focus on Harris’ “authoritarian-woke tendencies”.\n\n“She (Harris) is the one that everyone really needs to be worried about,” he said.\n\n“We know that Joe doesn’t have it in him to run the presidency.\n\n“There’s a very good chance that he won’t be able to last out the full term in terms of being able to handle his duties.\n\n“I want to see Kamala Harris absolutely brought to book for a lot of the things that she has said and her basically authoritarian-woke tendencies.”\n\n JoeBiden realDonaldTrump KamalaHarris JoeBiden realDonaldTrump KamalaHarris I think you mean “coterie”. If you’re going to continually post this sort of uniformed and unfounded right wing opinion piece garbage, please at least spell it correctly (you can be assured that both Biden and Harris would). Economic havoc caused by 'hysterical responses' to COVID-19 | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Andrew Bolt says the fact is the economic havoc facing Australia is caused not so much by the virus but by the hysterical responses to it. \n\n“Particularly all these crude bans and shutdowns and border controls, you name it,” Mr Bolt said. \n\nMr Bolt weighed in on the federal budget which was revealed on Tuesday evening.\n\nHe spoke of the recent revelation from Treasurer Josh Frydenberg in which he said 'we have predicated some of the assumptions in this budget on a vaccine being available across the country by the end of next year'. \n\nMr Bolt said it is an important aspect to arise out of the budget, that the Morrison government “has bet that budget” on the nation getting a vaccine next year. \n\n'And if that vaccine doesn't come to save us, this budget will be even more terrible than it is already,' Mr Bolt said. \n\nHe looked at daily new death rate statistics in the UK, saying what is being seen is 'another sign we don't need to pin everything on getting a vaccine'. \n\n“We don't need to shut down the economy each time there's an outbreak'. \n\nMr Bolt said there must be a cure for the hysteria being observed. \n\n'Because then, even without a vaccine, we won't need lockdowns again.\n Millions of stoic Australians holding the line - such hysteria. Andrew please explain how well the US and UK are doing. Pillock. What happened to sprucing hydroxyquoraline couldnt get a mention in help saving the president

UK’s shrinking second wave COVID-19 death rate ‘biased’ by testing | Sky News AustraliaAn infectious diseases expert says the discrepancy between the UK’s soaring daily infection rate and the mortality count compared to the first wave is a result of missed cases in the beginning.\n\n“It’s really a function I think of, in the UK in particular, they missed most of their cases during their first wave,” ANU Professor Peter Collignon said.\n\n“I have relatives in the UK who I’m pretty sure had COVID, but they couldn’t get a test, and they were young, and they recovered.”\n\nProfessor Collignon told Sky News host Chris Kenny that while treatment had improved since the pandemic began, it was still not “all that flash”.\n\n“The treatment we’ve got is still not all that flash, I mean we don’t have a magic drug that makes it go away, we do have things that save people or decrease their chance of dying if they’re in intensive care, but none of the drugs are dramatic,” he said.\n\n“It’s better supportive care, better fluids, we know more about the clotting.\n\n“So, yes, the deaths are lower but I think it’s mainly an artifact related to the age of the people being tested.”\n\nProfessor Collignon said people in their 20s and 30s have a mortality rate of about one in 10,000 while people above the age of 85 have a one in three chance.\n\n“So the age of the people getting infected has a big effect,” he said. \n\n“And I think as the problem has gone, older people are getting infected less often compared to young people, and there’s more testing, so that can give us a bias that makes it look like the mortality rate is lower now than it was before.”\n\nMost studies agree the median time from the onset of symptoms to an admission to an intensive care unit is about 10 days. Trump already proved that it's not lethal. Stop the freaking hysteria Well if it is the result of missed cases in the beginning then that is the complete and utter incompetent government not using the technology at hand to actually test for Coronavirus using the correct virology system required. Instead this is the Scamdemic narrative to doomsday

Democrats ‘apprehensive’ about Biden contracting COVID-19 | Sky News AustraliaThe turbulent nature of pandemic-era American politics is bound to have Democrats apprehensive about Joe Biden contracting COVID-19 and not doing “as robustly as Donald Trump,” according to Bob Carr.\n\nThe former NSW premier told Sky News, although Donald Trump is a “native genius at politics,” the opinion polls have a distinct unanimity towards Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.\n\n“The inherently turbulent nature of American politics in the middle of this pandemic would have Democrats apprehensive about the prospect that their candidate could be felled by COVID-19,” Mr Carr said.\n\n“And not do as robustly as Donald Trump seems to have done in bouncing back from it.”\n\n JoeBiden realDonaldTrump Pfftt. Trump is sick as a dog. He’ll fall in a heap soon. JoeBiden realDonaldTrump This is such a dumb point - oh sky news ok carry on I see Australia has its own version of a Fox News Democrat
