Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack has slammed the Queensland government for its tough border stance, criticising Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk for setting a ridiculous standard for her state.

“Disappointed, flabbergasted, outraged, I mean this is just ridiculous,” he said. “This is nonsense, we’re in the middle of a global pandemic and she wants there to be no cases forever and a day. “An absolute outrage.”

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Queenslanders can travel anywhere in Qld with no hotspots. QLD government have done a great job looking after qlders

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Like the ones that work, kids going to school, most business open, better economy then most. It’s not perfect by any means, we should listen to the government that gave us the Ruby Princes. Don’t think so.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP 2 minutes video no one should skip: Dr. Yan: the coronavirus was made in the lab to target human by the Chinese Communist Party!

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP M_McCormackMP might say that, but AnnastaciaMP 's policy has been very effective at keeping QLD mostly Covid_19 free. More RWNJ propaganda from . qldpol QLDvotes

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Bully boy which is part of the governments requirement

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP He's an expert on ridiculous.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP This has nothing to do with a virus. Deliberate destruction, controlling populations, removing rights/freedoms. These pollies don't work for AU/us.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP No one cares what McCormack says. He thinks he is a dumb mini me Trump.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Maybe other States should raise their standards rather than expect others to lower theirs. Who opened his cage?

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Does he even Know where Queensland is?

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Anastastacia has majority support in Queensland for her success in keeping the virus under control. Federal politicians on the other hand are about as popular as Extinction Rebellion.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP But, but, but ..... there wouldn’t be an issue if GladysB had closed the NSW border to Victorians three weeks earlier than she did. She’s given AnnastaciaMP a massive re-election boost because she chose to let Victorians in to spend their money. It’s all about the money !

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Any mention of international border closures and why stranded Aussies can’t get home? Or can’t leave....? Unless you’re George Pell or Tony Abbott

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Hey, MickMack, they haven't even decided yet & Dr Young is our most expert pandemic-experienced CHO - so will advise her decision (yes, it's her call) using her best knowledge & skills, such as interpreting NSW mystery cases for our benefit. Go back to Wagga Wagga! Wear a mask!

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP The more they criticise her the more likely she will be re-elected especially if its from someone from a southern state or federal government.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP How is the budget stimulus going to work with closed borders? Your cooked my man

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP 🤷🏻‍♂️ McWhatsHisName

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Federal politician attempting to help fellow state party is hardly news

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Thanks to the tough stance, I’m back at work in the office with real people. I also crossed the border on the weekend to spend money in NSW small businesses with very little delays. It took two minutes to apply for a border pass, no big deal. This is just a pre-election attack.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP And yet curiously quiet on WA and it's more strict border measures. Seems they stopped talking about WA after the disastrous opinion polling. The LNP is a disgrace.

M_McCormackMP AnnastaciaMP Scary

Qld border threshold 'unrealistic' as NSW records three local cases | Sky News AustraliaPremier Gladys Berejiklian has criticised the Queensland government’s threshold for reopening its borders for being “unrealistic” as New South Wales records three cases of community transmission overnight. \n\nTwo of the new infections were reported in south-western Sydney and another in Western Sydney. \n\nMs Berejiklian said the new cases aligned with traces of the virus health authorities detected in south-west and north-west Sydney sewerage systems. \n\nThe state also recorded three new cases in returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine.\n\nThe locally acquired infections could see Queensland extend its border closure to NSW as it breaks the requirement for 28 days of zero community transmission. \n\n“I always said at the outset that the Queensland government’s definition of what would make it safe for them to open their border is always very high and something unrealistic and I think the cases overnight have proven that,” Ms Berejiklian said. \n\n“I say to the Queensland government I appreciate you’ll probably come out today and say the 28 days is ticking again from the start.\n\n“I will put to you that until the end of the pandemic its highly unlikely, highly improbable that NSW will ever get to 28 days of no community transmission because that is not how a pandemic works.” \n\nShe flagged NSW would likely always be at risk of new local infections due to the state’s open economy. \n\n\n\n\n GladysB well you lot gave us all the virus gladys GladysB Only puts it back about 4 days. GladysB Gladys ? 😳
