Indonesia and Australia have finally signed a free-trade deal between the two nations. ACCI Chief Executive James Pearson: There's something in it for both sides. MORE: Speers

Indonesia and Australia have finally signed a free-trade deal between the two nations, following years of negotiations.

The confirmation of the Indonesia Australia Comprehensive Partnership Agreement was stalled by a number of issues, including when Scott Morrison floated the idea of moving Australia's embassy in Israel last year. Trade Minister Simon Birmingham said the deal would eliminate tariffs in relation to 94 per cent of tariff lines. The deal is expected to be a big win for Australia's farmers, universities, and healthcare providers.
