NSW Police have set up a strike force to track down more than 3500 protesters who breached coronavirus restrictions by marching on Sydney’s CBD on Saturday.
, marching into Sydney’s CBD along George Street and back again on Saturday to protest widespread lockdowns in NSW.photographer Brook Mitchell documented the march and said the estimate of 3500 protesters seemed “very conservative” and there appeared to be thousands more.“In all the years I’ve been covering protests in Sydney and other places, this was definitely the most violent,” he said.
Police Minister David Elliott said 22 detectives had been assigned to track down the “very selfish boofheads” who attended the protest. Police officers were assaulted during the protests, with some suffering minor injuries.Police charged 57 people and issued 90 fines after crowds clashed with dozens of officers as demonstrations converged on major cities across Australia on Saturday.

Australia is approximately 6 months behind most of the world with vaccines. Vaccines are definitely not a quick fix. Lockdown or 'let rip' are the only 2 options whilst vaccines are being rolled out. A very hard lockdown will only work with public backing.
