'Any parent would worry': As Al-Taqwa's COVID-19 cluster nears 150, parents question if schools should be open

"Al-Taqwa, from my experience, went far and beyond that [required]," he said.before the start of term two that all the parents who are going to drop kids are going to not come out of their cars, they're going to drop kids at a safe location and drive away.

"The Prime Minister continuously repeated this phrase that the schools are safe for kids to go back," Mr Razvi said.Paediatrician says schools should stay closed for entire lockdownAl-Taqwa's principal Omar Hallak declined to be interviewed but the school did respond to a list of questions. Children from prep to year 10 in the Melbourne metropolitan area and Mitchell Shire, north of Melbourne, will start their school term a week later than scheduled, on July 20.

Really important that if you think you've been exposed, or feel sick, that you just stay home.

147 new cases on 14/7? Disney is MOCKING YOU

It seems immensely obvious that schools shouldn’t be open

NSW should extend the school holiday. It is too risky for all students to return to schools next week when the state should be locked down. The government is lying on this. The wise and responsible parents should keep kids home to protect the families and NSW! COVID19Aus

Concerning along cultural lines.

Shut this Cluster zone down now and just school from home !!!!

Was the teacher wearing a mask? Were the students?

Isn’t this all about Eid celebrations?

drkerrynphelps Just close the bloody schools, it’s not rocket science 🤦🏻‍♀️

Why would parents worry when it’s 80 year olds that die from “covid” FFS?

Pretty unique scenario since it’s not happened at any other school, and seems to have mainly spread amongst family units outside of the school, with links to the houso towers and hotel quarantine outbreaks.

This is the only school with an outbreak. Put the puzzle together and it’s a no brainer why.

Imagine the pile on if this was a private grammar school the dogs would be rabid

The best protective thing for families is to expose them by the truth on pandemic:

Quote:'It is believed to have started with a grade six teacher, who is thought to have contracted the virus at a family gathering, and it has spread rapidly to staff and students.' Once again, it's mainly adults passing on to students rather than students infecting each other

I teach down the road. It’s scary being so close to a cluster.

We are seriously not doing this again, bloody groundhog day. ABC on a push to shut down the country, that is disturbing. Why are they always pushing the most extreme measures? The media is literally advocating the locking up of children How is this ok?

It’ll all be ok.

No they shouldn’t until we get the situation under control. It was PM’s misinformation about kids less likely to catch the virus and transmission of it is low,so schools are safe. NOT Now got viral cases popping up like mushroom in schools!

That one in particular definitely shouldn’t be.

Is the issue that they’re going to school together or socialising and not social distancing outside of school?

Get the teachers to do the adult thing & live with it. It's not the kids who generally die from this, why punish them?

Schools are not safe yet!
