Sky News can reveal Dreamworld’s owner Ardent Leisure failed to communicate a maintenance notice to shareholders.

In a statement a spokesperson said “continuous disclosure rules do not require ALG to disclose such events or notifications”. This comes as Dreamworld is under investigation by the workplace health and safety regulator over two separate incidences.

On November 22 an eight-year-old girl from Logan sustained serious genital injuries on a slide at White Water World, resulting in the girl undergoing two separate surgeries. Another involved a worker who made a lucky escape when a ride broke during routine maintenance. The share price for Ardent Leisure is down six per cent this week. A company is required to disclose any information that could have an impact on market price.

Facebook’s zero notice news bans are ‘professionally irresponsible’ | Sky News AustraliaThe Australian senior technology reporter Chris Griffith says Facebook’s Australian news bans are “professionally irresponsible” because they did not give any notice before enforcing the changes. \n\n“I’d say it’s just totally irresponsible and professionally irresponsible,” he told Sky News. \n\n“Normally in the technology industry or online if a service is going to change the conditions, for example if a cloud service is going to discontinue, they give you a month's notice to get your files off that system. \n\n“I don’t think I can remember any situation where a service of the scope of Facebook - which has on it emergency services, all those vital services - has given zero notice and just announced that they’re doing this.\n\n“I know there’s been a domestic violence organisation as well, they haven’t been given the chance to say to their readers ‘hey, this is what’s happening, this is another way of contacting us’ … and that’s why I think it’s totally irresponsible”.\n\nMr Griffith said the incident has highlighted the need to get away from a growing dependence on a small number of companies which can be “very cavalier” in the way they operate. \n A very HEAVY handed approach unfortunately. Zucks trying to make an example of Aus now that the EU is considering making very similar changes to ours. Your time is up pal. holochain Sky News reported on Facebook's threat in September. Almost 6 months seems like reasonable notice.

What in earth did people expect when using a ‘free’ platform to host 'vital' information!! Love it! Morons! auspol JoshFrydenberg What's wrong, did you just work out that Facebook already benefits your business? JoshFrydenberg I 100% blame the liberal party, the Murdoch press and channel 9 for this self created disaster, not Facebook who wouldn't let you bully and con them. It's YOUR FAULT IStandWithFacebook
