Why do some parents dread their child's eighth birthday?OPINION For Jennifer*, a 38-year-old single mother with a 13-year-old girl, her daughter’s eighth birthday was the occasion of high anxiety, not celebration. Employer to parent. 'Ah so your kid is now 8? Well that means we can drop your pay by $88 PW.' Also how many people went from not being unemployed to being made unemployed by the GOV. Didn't they just increase the percentage of unemployed people when they introduced this? Also why is a person on Youth allowance aloud to earn nearly 3 times more a fortnight before their allowance gets cut than a person who by definition is unemployed and is obligated to find work? This should be a nonissue. There is enough money to help but government is more interested in helping America to kill more coloured people. Oops. So too bad.
