TS Galaxy have announced the signing of veteran defender Vuyo Mere following his departure from Swallows FC.
Mere penned an emotional farewell on social media to Swallows after helping them back to top flight football. Galaxy have confirmed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns right back has signed an 18-month contract with the side. Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi said he has always regarded Mere as the Dani Alves of South African football and is delighted to have a player with a wealth of experience joining the side.
“We are quite delighted to have secured a player of Vuyo’s calibre. I have always regarded him as a ‘Dani Alves’ of South African football. He is a born leader who has a lot of knowledge to impart amongst our young crop of players. He certainly still has a lot to contribute in the field of play despite his many years in the game,” Sukazi said via the club’s media department.
Vuyo is blessed 🙏
