Makhosazana Khanyile, CEO of the National Film and Video Foundation said:"The TV comedy nominees category was not announced at the SAFTAs 14 Nominees announcement launch due to the number of applications received. "The category received less than three entries and at the judge's discretion, the judging process was unable to proceed to the judging phase which resulted in there being no nominees for the comedy category."
The NFVF joined forces with 205 industry experts from across the country to form a judging committee that spent over two months deliberating and rounding off the final nominees of the 70 categories.
