"These thoughts are always with me and I cannot sleep. I'm afraid of leaving the house during loadshedding in case something like this happens. It gets even worse when my kids are at home. What can I do to ensure safety and get rid of these thoughts?" Zane Smallberger works at SHE Group as a health and safety consultant.

"People should gradually reconnect appliances after the power returns and avoid using multiple high-wattage devices simultaneously. People should also regularly inspect electrical systems, address any visible damage promptly and hire a qualified electrician for repairs."
