Professor Tshifularo is a registered practitioner of the HPCSA and has been an active member since 1989.

The President of the Health Professions Council of South Africa , Dr Kgosi Letlape, on Friday congratulated Professor Mashudu Tshifularo for performing the world’s first ever middle-ear transplant.

Professor Tshifularo is the head of the ear, nose, and throat department at the University of Pretoria performed the transplant on a 35-year-old man who was able to regain his hearing.“The HPCSA appreciates the exceptional work that was carried out by Professor Tshifularo and the team who worked tirelessly to ensure that the operation was a success,” said Letlape.
