On Sunday, City Press reported that South Africans’ expectations are on a knife-edge that the governing ANC would drop to below 50% support for the first time since 1994. He, however, explained that the address"had two components" - one component was to talk about the readiness of the elections, and the other component was to close off on the administration.
This was after the IEC’s chief electoral officer, Sy Mamabolo, confirmed that the SA Police Service arrested two people in connection with allegations of tampering with election materials and processes.This should never be the case. The work of the electoral should never be interfered with, because when you interfere with the work of the IEC, you are really interfering with our democracy.
