The DA is not happy about Cyril Ramaphosa using a national address for veiled political campaigning. The DA wants 1% of ANC votes in Wednesday's general election to be docked and a R200 000 fine imposed on President Cyril Ramaphosa as punishment for his"thinly veiled political campaign" during a national address.
"If the ANC receives 10 000 000 votes, it will lose 100 000 votes. Once the reduction is made, the commission will have to recalculate the number of seats awarded in the National Assembly," Zille said. The EFF, for its part, wants an investigation into the"misuse" of the SABC by Ramaphosa's office to avoid a repeat in the future. He also spoke about the significance of Wednesday's election and other security matters, but a large part of his speech was about his government's successes. The signing into law of the National Health Insurance was another of Ramaphosa's major talking points."It was funded by public funds. The Presidency's staff wrote the speech.
