SA's top education lobby group and major teacher unions have lashed out at the systemic problems in the education sector, following dismal reading results from an international assessment.
Equal Education and the Equal Education Law Centre this week said they were disappointed with the government, particularly national and provincial departments that failed to address"deep cracks in the system that continue to let pupils down".
