A virtual card is an isolated banking card on your online profile. It allows you to do secure online purchases.But I sang the opposite tune because I thought certain things would never happen to me. Well, until recently that is, when I fell for the scammers. I never imagined this ever happening to me.
I have never trusted online shopping – I have reservations when it comes to sharing my bank card details with people I don’t know. But these tekkies were really nice and came with a discounted price tag. The price had dropped by about R300 to R899, with free delivery. A few minutes after hitting the authorisation button, I received an acknowledgment from the store. It read: Thank you for your purchase! We’re getting your order ready to be shipped. We will notify you when it has been sent.
And I got a response on 15 February:"We are delighted to inform you that your much-anticipated order is currently on its way to your doorstep. Our team has carefully packed and dispatched your items, ensuring you in perfect condition."The estimated delivery date is set for nine to 12 business days, and we appreciate your patience as we work hard to make sure your purchase arrives promptly.
