A year ago, a fire gutted the National Assembly building. Nothing has been done to effect repairs. | JasonFelix

Today, a year ago exactly, flames engulfed the National Assembly building. As firefighters battled in vain, bystanders watched in horror as the national legislature was razed.

Since then, nothing has been done to effect repairs on the building, and the parliamentary precinct is surrounded by barbed wire. Police yellow tape prevents access to the building and weeds are slowly overgrowing at one of the country's most significant architectural gems.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism. JasonFelix What a disgrace can't this government fix anything.

JasonFelix They are still working on a script to blame all of this on Zuma, State capture or Covid19😂😂😂😂

JasonFelix Who is responsible for the repairs ? National Gov or Local ?

JasonFelix Governance incompetence

JasonFelix I understand why. To steal from the country is hard work. Not every Polititian can workand steal at the same time. Then there was Nasrec, and then CR was spending his Phala money in Cape Town

JasonFelix Anybody surprised? The ANC are a bipedal natural disaster that strikes constantly, no country can survive a never ending tsunami and corruption and stupidity.

JasonFelix ANC lives ANC leads..

JasonFelix 😂😂😂. cANCer will kill you

JasonFelix They're trying to decide which tenderpreneur gets the job.

JasonFelix Another good story to tell. The Anc way.

JasonFelix This is the the story of africans and decolonisation. Destroy and build back vokol.

JasonFelix Not a surprise, funds provided by the people's taxes are just being pocketed by the corrupt government officials. Pure greed There is no thought for future generations, they will inherit this mess. Good luck, children of SA.

JasonFelix Africans are in charge, can we honestly expect anything more? I say move parliament to Pretoria and use the assembly building for something else. The EFF have turned parliament into a zoo anyway, much better suited for Pretoria. Closer to the jungle.

JasonFelix Move National Assembly to Pretoria

JasonFelix I mean, this is also a representation of the state of the country. Not surprised!

JasonFelix Aligning the brown paper packets takes time and negotiation. Corruption contracts are difficult for thieves to conclude. ANC

JasonFelix It’s state capture/ Zuma fault for the non action. Connect the dots, Pravin would say.

JasonFelix It was burnt deliberately so that leaders evade accountability using virtual sittings. Evil foreign intelligence.

JasonFelix I can bet the tenders were granted and money paid over, now it will just stay in this state. Same with OR Thambo hospital, it will never get repaired even tough they will pay for repairs. Thats why our country is falling apart and thats how ANC runs things

JasonFelix And nothing will be done as doing nothing is one of the ANC's strong points.

JasonFelix Wrong tenders!

JasonFelix That's Ramaphosa's new crazy and corrupt dawn for you.

JasonFelix Think they are still negotiating with Boswell Wilkie for the tent.

JasonFelix Parliament is a preview of the Eskom situation. Next 10 years nothing will be done but billions will be spent on consultants linked with the ANC

JasonFelix Did anyone really expect anything different from the looters?

JasonFelix No surprise! So much easier to destroy or allow something to stand ruined and derelict than to spend the money and make the effort to restore it! Eskom would be a good comparison…I doubt there is a plan or any attempt to provide funds to sort that mess out!🤡🤡🤡

JasonFelix Move National Assembly to Pretoria

mheidtman JasonFelix Soon it will be full of illegals.

JasonFelix Its all part of the plan....

JasonFelix Nothing new.........SAA, ESKOM, TRANSNET, DENEL, ROADS, SCHOOLS.......

JasonFelix It’s part of the ANC’s decolonisation programme so it will remain as such !!!

JasonFelix i will always be thankful to God for giving me a reliable source no more lost,. through Brandonkaren11 Bitcoin mining investment platform

JasonFelix This is PatriciaDeLille department. As they say, a vote for ForGoodZA is a vote for MYANC

JasonFelix The SA way. We don't fix anything

JasonFelix The EFF called it a revolution! Now billions which could be used to empower black lives must either renovate or build a new Parliament. Africa is full of foolish politicians and voters, so sad!

JasonFelix The Anc cannot repair anything as they are programmed to destroy.

JasonFelix It is a good reflection of the state of the nation. Cyril should give his annual address from the burnt out ruin as an example of inaction, neglect and ineptitude that is the hallmark of government.

JasonFelix What if the aim is to totally destroy it cz capital want to build private infrastructure there 🤔

JasonFelix to expect anything more than this from useless anc people is really stupid.

JasonFelix What a useless government.

JasonFelix The ANC does not know how to build, just to steal or take. The ANC does not know how to farm, create, build, produce. They can only take what they stole, borrowed or were given to them, and then use it till it is gone. Create, grow or maintain is words the ANC doesn’t understand

JasonFelix It’s typical of this government, the only thing they know what to do very well is to break things. Fixing is not their thing.

JasonFelix The cANCer do not have a mentality of building up, only breaking down. Why repair if they can buy cars, houses and go on lavish holidays

JasonFelix Politicians don’t care. The current crop is a bunch of thieves and conspirators

JasonFelix Another massive fail from the inept ANC. One with added symbolism, however. They really don't care about democracy at all. Parliament in ruins sums up the past 29 years.

JasonFelix The whole country is in ruins thanks to anc and their voters

JasonFelix Be the judge 🤔🤔🤔

JasonFelix Effects of CyrilRamaphosa he doesn’t do anything unless his masters tell him so.

JasonFelix What did you expect? ANC has no idea how to build and restore. Their specialty is theft and destruction.
