Music | Kyle Deutsch is cooking up a new project

Not only did that track encapsulate the feeling of leaving the city for sunnier shores and the pleasures of the ocean, but it also gave us our first taste of Shekhinah, who proceeded to go on a prolific run shortly after that.

Speaking to us from his home in Durban, the singer, songwriter and producer says: “I take every song and sound as it comes. It’s crazy how all these songs have the same feel. I always love the subject matter to be focused on what the music is trying to tell me.” There are tracks in which he displays a vulnerability and others that are more uplifting, carrying positive sentiments laid over catchy melodies.Deutsch says: “The pandemic affected us all as there were no shows for a very long time. It seems like event organisers are focusing on DJs instead of live performers.”
