RABAT - Morocco will halt incoming passenger flights for two weeks starting Monday night amid concern over the spread of a new, heavily mutated Covid-19 variant dubbed Omicron, a government committee

said.

It said the measure would take effect from 11:59 pm Monday for two weeks, and would be evaluated regularly to make "adjustments if necessary". The variant was first detected in South Africa, with cases reported in several countries, prompting nations to reimpose containment measures that many had hoped were a thing of the past.
