Earlier on Friday, Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said preliminary investigations revealed many inconsistencies that have forced his department to suspend the principal of Parktown Boys’ High School.
Investigations revealed that the school went on an unauthorized Grade 8 camp at the Nyathi Lodge in the North West. This is where Mpianzi died during a water activity last week. The school did not comply with the department’s policy, which requires schools to apply for authorisation from the district three months before the proposed trip. The school only applied in November for the January trip. Lesufi also announced that some district officials would also be suspended. This entry was posted on 24 Jan 2020,08:29PM at 8:29 PM and is filed under

Parktown Boys' High trip was not authorised, law firm appointed to investigate - Panyaza LesufiA week after the tragic news of a grade 8 pupil’s death during a school camp made headlines, Gauteng MEC for education Panyaza Lesufi has revealed that the Parktown Boys' High class of 2020 went on the trip before being granted authorisation. He means based on whether they are white... obviously. He already has SAHRCommission on it! Whatever. Now will the Dept of Basic Education tell us why they didn't take a similarly aggressive and vindictive approach when 5 year old children died in pit toilets, and instead fought the miserly financial settlements awarded against them. m not being heartless but so many people to be charged because of one child who went to the water? come on the child was not killed by any of these workers, government must stop gaining popularity by reacting than prevention.
