Police Minister Bheki Cele announced that about 20,000 people have been arrested for violating the latest lockdown regulations.Paying the admission of guilt fine carries with it more than just a financial penalty.
The suggestion is that the fines ought to be handled like speeding tickets - which don’t carry criminal records. Deputy Minister of Justice John Jeffries said, “yes, we would like to see a process for expunging records for admission of guilt fines because of the detrimental effect on people. But also, at this stage, in the middle of the second wave, people must follow the regulations, it is for our own good.”He said, “the importance of criminal records now for breaking the regulations is that the courts can see that you have become a serial offender.
💔😭
Please bring criminal records for corruption
Damage done already people don't forget getting handcuffed for unreasonable regulation .
Minister Stella Ndabeni is continuing with business as normal but she was also arrested like ordinary citizens ANC ngamasende enja.
Just hand out fines for fuck sake, why the need to treat us like criminals for violating nonsensical laws that don't make sense.
MohojeThabang So why waste time making them to begin with?
Which means people will do whatever they want, cause there's no real consequences for breaking the law
