Liverpool Star Puts Henderson In Same Bracket As Andreas Iniesta & Xavi Hernandez

According to Thiago Alcantara, Henderson is one of the best midfield partners he has ever had the pleasure of playing alongside.

The pair began playing together after the Spaniard arrived on Merseyside at the beginning of the 2020/21 season, and seem to have created a dynamic partnership since, playing in some massive games for the Reds together, including the 2021/22 FA Cup and UEFA Champions League finals against Chelsea and Real Madrid, respectively.

The England international has been a mainstay in the Liverpool team ever since Jurgen Klopp's arrival at the club, taking the captaincy role soon after. All this despite an underwhelming start to his Reds career under Sir Kenny Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers, and it is this tenacity that has been an endearing factor for Thiago.

"He brings to us this intensity that the team needs at some points of the game. He's intense the whole game," the La Masia graduate said while speaking to Liverpool's official YouTube channel.The praise Thiago has given Henderson speaks volumes considering the many world-class talents the Spain international played alongside in midfield during his spells with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

They include 2010 FIFA World Cup winners and Ballon d'Or finalists Xavi and Iniesta during his time at the Camp Nou, while at the Allianz Arena he shared the middle of the park with multiple-time Champions League winner Toni Kroos, Philipp Lahm and Joshua Kimmich, among others.
