How to care for your summer braids | W24_SA

The daily buildup of dirt or sweat can cause pores to clog and create product buildup. Use a hydrating shampoo that won’t strip your hair of its natural oils but will ensure that your braids are hydrated and have a healthy shine. Try not to rub your braids when you wash them. Use a hot oil treatment after washing to hydrate your stressed scalp.Constantly styling your braids in high ponytails or up-dos pulls on your hairline which can weaken your roots.

Simply limit these kinds of styles to one to two times a week instead of daily. While wearing your braids be sure to apply hair food with essential oilsto your hairline to keep it from thinning.New growth can cause the hair to be pulled if your braids are heavy or from constantly tugging on them. Sleep patterns and daily movement can weaken or damage the new growth from consistent stretching.
