Following his shock exit from Orlando Pirates, veteran defender Happy Jele has his camp working around the clock to get him a new club.

Jele has been linked with a move to Royal AM though indications are that the KwaZulu-Natal outfit has also been assessing other options to strengthen their central defence, as reported by the Siya crew. Following the move of Jele’s former Pirates teammate Ntsikelelo Nyauza to Richards Bay FC over the weekend, and after ex-Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker signed with TS Galaxy, attempts are being made for the Middelburg-born player to also get a club.

Jele, 35, is adamant that he still has a few years of topflight football in his legs, which is why he turned down a job opportunity at the Buccaneers in a non-playing role. “Happy Jele’s camp is busy assessing options for him, and something should come up soon. It could be anytime, maybe this week, watch the space,” said the source.Meanwhile, Magents, as Jele is known in football circles, was spotted among several local football legends at an event in Limpopo over the weekend, though sources have confirmed that the experienced centre-back was making a guest appearance and honouring the invitation with no intentions of hanging up his boots.

The likes of Albert ‘Bashin’ Mahlangu, Edward ‘Magents’ Motale, Japie Motale, Lucky Lekgwathi, Steve Lekoelea, Joseph Makhanya and Simphiwe Tshabalala were among those who graced the occasion with their presence.
