A Gauteng teacher has been served with a suspension letter and will face a disciplinary hearing following an altercation with the grandparent of a pupil at Fred Norman Secondary School in Ennerdale, Johannesburg.

During the altercation, the teacher - who is black - called the grandmother trash and stated she"does not like coloureds".

He added there was no justification for someone in that position and with that responsibility to utter such words. "The grandmother went there to find out what the problem was because children are about to write examinations, and therefore if they had to write that test on an assessment, the pupil would fail," Lesufi said.I was shocked that it took almost a month for the school to establish that there was no proper relationship between the teacher and the pupil.

He said strict protocol had to be followed before the teacher could be issued a letter of suspension and invited to a hearing. In a statement, family spokesperson Dean Daniel called out Lesufi, saying he was deflecting attention away from the incident.'You are trash, I don't like coloureds,' Gauteng teacher tells pupil's grandmother in heated altercation

Absolute proof that the cANCer will promote racism. Instead of suspending or firing the teacher, they will simply 'move' her out of the spotlight. In a month's time this teacher will be working again...no doubt

WATCH | Teacher on precautionary suspension over racism allegationsA teacher at Fred Norman Secondary School in Ennerdale has been placed on precautionary suspension following racism allegations. Name please I wonder if this teacher will be as harshly treated and falsely vilified as the unfortunate teacher who said “polisie mannetjie” and was then deliberately misunderstood and fired by Lesufi? 🤔 Precautionary suspension? Have other teachers not been fully suspended and fired for less racist behaviour? Or is this a one shoe does not fit all situation again?
